A dog wags its tail with its heart
AdoptYou can’t change a dog’s past, but you can rewrite the future
Adoption Process
Fill out an application and our team will check with your vet history and landlord requirements. Then we connect you with the foster parent to see if it may be a great match! The fosters know our dogs the best: does he need a fence? Does she want to be a homebody or an adventurer? Will he love kids, cats …. or to be an only ‘fur baby’.
They will happily meet if you are a potential good fit for their foster dog or pup!! Please include all family members/roommates who will be living with your future dog – pets, too, at that meeting.
We do not adopt on “first come, first serve” – but the best fit for our dogs and puppies! (Sometimes dog have SEVERAL suitors. In these cases, a dog may be put on “hold” while the foster reviews applications, but if you already have a meeting scheduled through a FRR foster, they will honor commitments before making a choice).
Once a foster and an adopter agree it’s a good match, we will work out details to get your dog home! We’ll check your personal references then send you a contract and invoice …

Adoption Fees
- $375 for puppies and dogs under age 8-years
- $200 for dogs over 8-years
- Our cleft palate pups may have a different fee (it will be stated in their profiles)
* If you adopt a pup too young to be altered, the adoption fee will include the spay/neuter surgery at an approved Freedom Ride Rescue vet. Out of town adoptions will include $100 refundable deposit for unaltered animals – which is refunded with proof of spay or neuter.
Part of your adoption contract is an agreement to have a dog spayed or neutered by age 1, and we encourage spaying females by age 6 months to prevent going into their first heat cycle.
We do not offer a refund if you return a dog or puppy. Please be sure you are ready to commit to a dog for the remainder of its life before committing to adopt them … and then give them time to decompress and adjust to their new world with you. Some may fit in right away – others may need patience while they learn that they are truly home.
