About Our N.C. Rescue
We are proud to be the crazy dog lovers who skip out on work to transport dogs from all over the state to their excited fosters’ homes; who stay up late searching shelter pages for that next “Freedom Ride” potential; who spend countless hours making rescue a reality!
Freedom Ride Rescue brings together individuals who share a love for dogs and a dream to see a no-kill state. Our foster-based network is in the Raleigh/Clayton, NC, area. We bring in dogs of all ages, sizes and breed mixes. We help to rehabilitate these animals – providing security, love, medical, and behavioral training as needed – until they can be adopted to their “fur-ever” homes.
We are foster based: we have no facility and every one of our adoptable (and not quite ready to be adopted) animals are in homes where families are teaching trust, love, basic manners …. preparing your future dog ready to be the best addition to your family that he can be!
As fosters, we are willing to have our heart break after we love, rehabilitate and nurse an unwanted, unloved animal until they prance away with their fur-ever person – often never looking back – as they start their most life’s wonderful chapter: the one as a cherished pet.
So join our road to making freedom rides happen! We are a wonderful, tight-knit family needing volunteers, fosters, donors – basically caring people willing to help in any way they can!

🐾 FRR Alum Arya (FKA Pearl) found her forever home on August 27, 2022, and four years later, her family says she is a happy, healthy little gal who has settled beautifully into her forever life! 💕🐶
🚲 Arya loves bike rides, car rides, RV camping adventures, and, naturally, sleeping in the people bed. 😴❤️ She is brave, sweet, and happiest when she’s out exploring with her humans, Robin and her dad. 🚐🐾
💪 When Arya first came to Freedom Ride, she had heartworms and didn’t really know how to play or be social. My, my, what a difference four years makes! Look at this confident little Warrior Princess now! 👑✨
🌧️ She does have a few strong opinions, though. Too hot? No thank you. 🥵 Too cold? Absolutely not. 🥶 Wet feet? She will pass. 😂
🐱 And then there’s the cat. Arya’s inner ratter still cannot quite understand why this particular feline is permitted to reside in her home. The cat, meanwhile, has adapted beautifully and occasionally enjoys taunting Arya from the safety of a strategically planned escape route. 😹🏃♀️ Thankfully, Arya has never hurt her feline roommate, and the two continue to make good, steady, observable, albeit somewhat slow progress toward household harmony. 😂❤️
🏡 Her family says they simply can’t imagine their lives without her, and we can certainly understand why. Four years into forever, Arya is exactly where she belongs. 🥹💕
🙏 Her family also wanted to send a heartfelt thank-you to Freedom Ride Rescue and to everyone who played a part in Arya’s journey, especially Jennifer for her constant effort and Tania, who fostered this sweet girl before she found her forever family. ❤️

It’s a Halloween pawty! Dress your dog in their best costume and head to Boatman Spirits for a patio costume contest, classic cocktails, and some very cute adoptable dogs. A panel of judges will pick the winners, with a $150 gift card for first place and $100 for the runner-up. Plus, a portion of sales will benefit Freedom Ride Rescue! Come enjoy the fun, meet our adoptable pups, and support rescue dogs while you’re at it.

He donated two of the most iconic 8 track players of the 70s: Weltron model 2001 “Spaceball” and Panasonic RQ-830S “TNT” ! 🚨🚨FOSTER NEEDED!!!🚨🚨This poor girl just weened 4 pups and she is ready to start a new life. One of our volunteers went out to meet her and she is very sweet. The owners think she is 6 y/o and she’s around 20 lbs. She lives with 2 other small dogs now. If you can help foster her please email jennifer@freedom-ride.org today! PLEASE NOTE: interested fosters must have an approved foster application (found on out website, freedom-ride.org) and must live within an hour of Raleigh in order to access our vet affiliates and attend adoption events. Have upcoming travel plans? ✈️While we do have temporary fosters available, it is so important for incoming dogs to have at least two weeks to decompress and acclimate to their new foster homes-for this reason, please wait until after your travels to commit to fostering.

Provide Medical Care
Freedom Ride Rescue provides all supplies (crates, food, bowls) and gets the animal in for a vet visit (for a spay, neuter and/or vaccines); we’ll also provide flea and heartworm preventatives. Anything and everything to make a happy and healthy pet!
Find A Home
We love, rehabilitate and nurse an unwanted, unloved animal until they prance away with their fur-ever person as they start their most life’s wonderful chapter: the one as a cherished pet.
