About Us
About Our N.C. Rescue
We are proud to be the crazy dog lovers who skip out on work to transport dogs from all over the state to their excited fostersā homes; who stay up late searching shelter pages for that next āFreedom Rideā potential; who spend countless hours making rescue a reality!
Freedom Ride Rescue brings together individuals who share a love for dogs and a dream to see a no-kill state. Our foster-based network is in the Raleigh/Clayton, NC, area. We bring in dogs of all ages, sizes and breed mixes. We help to rehabilitate these animals – providing security, love, medical, and behavioral training as needed – until they can be adopted to their “fur-ever” homes.
We areĀ foster based: we have no facility and every one of our adoptable (and not quite ready to be adopted) animals are in homes where families are teaching trust, love, basic manners ā¦. preparing your future dog ready to be the best addition to your family that he can be!
As fosters, we are willing to have our heart break after we love, rehabilitate and nurse an unwanted, unloved animal until they prance away with their fur-ever person ā often never looking backĀ āĀ as they start their most lifeās wonderful chapter: the one as a cherished pet.
So join our road to making freedom rides happen! We are a wonderful, tight-knit family needing volunteers, fosters, donors – basically caring people willing to help in any way they can!

Weāre still catching our breath from a very busy weekend of eventsāand working our way through all the photos and fun moments to share with you šøš¾
But letās start with Sunday at Mason Jar Lager Company in Fuquay-Varina š»š
Huge thank you to the venue for hosting us and to everyone who came out to support, snuggle pups, and show our doggos so much love. It was such a great turnout, and weāre pretty sure a few of our pups may have met their people šš¶āØ
More recaps coming soon⦠stay tuned!
šØšØPUPPY FOSTERS NEEDED!!šØšØ we are trying to find fosters for these darling 7-week old pups. There are ten total and due to their young age they need to stay in pairs (so 5 fosters total), but honestly two is easier than one at this age because they can entertain each other. Mom and dad are small breed so estimated to get no more than 15-18lbs full grown. Freedom Ride Rescue covers all costs associated with their care-we jus need YOU to provide the loving foster home. If you can help foster a pair of these cuties please email jennifer@freedom-ride.org today!
Meet Beanie šš¾
Wrinkles for days and love to match š„¹ This sweet Shar Pei mix pup is the ultimate cuddle buddyāshe just wants to be close to her people and soak up all the love.
Beanie is smart, eager to please, and already making great progress with her training. She may be a little shy at first, but give her a minute and youāll see her playful, loving personality shine āØ
If youāre looking for a snuggly, loyal little bestie, Beanie is ready to steal your heart š

Don`t risk putting your dog or your savings through heartworm treatment. Monthly prevention medication costs a fraction of what it takes to treat your dog once they become infected.
Freedom Ride takes in many HW+ dogs every year. We make sure all of those dogs receive the medical treatment they need, but it is a big hit to the rescue finances. Freedom Ride spends about $10,000-12,000 on heartworm treatments every year! (plus the cost of monthly prevention medications to the roughly 350-500 dogs that we bring in every year).
If you are in a position to help, we would appreciate any financial support that allows us to keep helping dogs in need.

šØšØFOSTER NEEDED!!šØšØThis stunning pup is a 2-year-old spayed female, who weighs about 46 lbs, and weāre guessing sheās a German Shorthaired Pointer mix. Sheās dog friendly and at such a wonderful age ā past the puppy chaos but still young, active, and ready for her next chapter.
Right now she just needs a foster home so we can say yes to bringing her into Freedom Ride Rescue. As always, FRR covers all medical care and supplies. You simply provide the safe, loving place for her to land. If you can help foster, please email jennifer@freedom-ride.org today!
42 happily ever afters in March š¾š
Thatās 42 dogs who found their people, their couches, their forever homesāand we couldnāt be more grateful š„¹āØ
Every adoption is special, but seeing 42 lives changed in one month? Thatās something to celebrate š From tiny puppies to seasoned sweethearts, each of these dogs now gets to live the life they deserveāand thatās because of YOU.
To our adopters, fosters, volunteers, and supportersāthank you for making moments like this possible.
And while weāre celebrating⦠there are still more amazing dogs waiting for their turn. Letās keep the happy tails coming š¶š
