About Our N.C. Rescue
We are proud to be the crazy dog lovers who skip out on work to transport dogs from all over the state to their excited fosters’ homes; who stay up late searching shelter pages for that next “Freedom Ride” potential; who spend countless hours making rescue a reality!
Freedom Ride Rescue brings together individuals who share a love for dogs and a dream to see a no-kill state. Our foster-based network is in the Raleigh/Clayton, NC, area. We bring in dogs of all ages, sizes and breed mixes. We help to rehabilitate these animals – providing security, love, medical, and behavioral training as needed – until they can be adopted to their “fur-ever” homes.
We are foster based: we have no facility and every one of our adoptable (and not quite ready to be adopted) animals are in homes where families are teaching trust, love, basic manners …. preparing your future dog ready to be the best addition to your family that he can be!
As fosters, we are willing to have our heart break after we love, rehabilitate and nurse an unwanted, unloved animal until they prance away with their fur-ever person – often never looking back – as they start their most life’s wonderful chapter: the one as a cherished pet.
So join our road to making freedom rides happen! We are a wonderful, tight-knit family needing volunteers, fosters, donors – basically caring people willing to help in any way they can!

Senior dogs have so much love left to give, and adopting one comes with plenty of perks. Their personalities are already established, many are past the puppy mischief stage, and they’re often happiest simply being close to their people. They may move at a gentler pace, but they still have plenty of enthusiasm for walks, treats, cozy naps, and all the everyday moments that make a dog part of the family.
Most of all, senior dogs seem to understand when they’ve been given another chance. There is something incredibly rewarding about giving an older dog the comfort, security, and unconditional love they deserve for their golden years.
These amazing seniors aren’t finished making memories—they’re just waiting for someone to make those memories with. Could one of them be the perfect addition to your family? 🏡❤️

This week, two sweet adults and four adorable puppies got their freedom rides ... we'll give them time to decompress with their new worlds before we make them available for adoption: watching for possible behavioral or medical needs!
There are so many incredible dogs in shelters right now - please consider opening you home! Freedom Ride will provide any supplies you need, cover your vet/medical needs while you love on the dog, work on basic manners ... and get them to our fun weekly adoption events!
We take in any size, age or breed mix - just need a foster home!!

What a wonderful day at the Raleigh Market at the State Fairgrounds! 🐾 We loved introducing our adoptable dogs to so many new, friendly faces—and our pups were thrilled to soak up all the attention, pets, and love!

Meet Gisele, our beautiful brindle gentle giant who is more than ready for her turn at happily ever after. 🐾
At 5–6 years old, Gisele has spent enough of her life giving to others. Now she’d really like to focus on the important things—snoring at your feet, collecting head scratches, taking leisurely walks, and splashing in any available body of water.
Gisele is a friend to just about everyone she meets and lives peacefully with other dogs AND a cat. She walks nicely on leash, is making great progress with house training, and despite having just one eye, she doesn’t let it slow her down one bit.
More than anything, Gisele is a sweet, affectionate girl who wants to be close to her people and finally know that she’s home for good. ❤️

Join Freedom Ride Rescue at Ramblers Beer and Wine this Saturday for an afternoon of drinks, dogs, and giving back! From 3–5 p.m., $1 from every draft beer and glass of wine sold will be donated directly to FRR to help us continue saving dogs in need.

Shelters are all full, and Freedom Ride Rescue needs fosters to help!! Can you open your home to a dog in need? We provide all supplies, vet care - and you get to love on the dog, helping it with learning to be a great pet!
Fosters must live within an hour of Raleigh as all of our vets and weekly adoption events are in the Triangle.

Rescue Dogs

Provide Medical Care
Freedom Ride Rescue provides all supplies (crates, food, bowls) and gets the animal in for a vet visit (for a spay, neuter and/or vaccines); we’ll also provide flea and heartworm preventatives. Anything and everything to make a happy and healthy pet!
Find A Home
We love, rehabilitate and nurse an unwanted, unloved animal until they prance away with their fur-ever person as they start their most life’s wonderful chapter: the one as a cherished pet.
