N.C. Non-Profit Animal Rescue
Give a Freedom RideIn the rescue world, a āFreedom Rideā is that magical car ride out of an animal shelter for a dog. At first they are nervous, but there is a moment when they realize they are safe ā¦. tongue out, tail wagging, a new chapter for them.
About Us
About Our N.C. Rescue
We are proud to be the crazy dog lovers who skip out on work to transport dogs from all over the state to their excited fostersā homes; who stay up late searching shelter pages for that next āFreedom Rideā potential; who spend countless hours making rescue a reality!
Freedom Ride Rescue brings together individuals who share a love for dogs and a dream to see a no-kill state. Our foster-based network is in the Raleigh/Clayton, NC, area. We bring in dogs of all ages, sizes and breed mixes. We help to rehabilitate these animals – providing security, love, medical, and behavioral training as needed – until they can be adopted to their “fur-ever” homes.
We areĀ foster based: we have no facility and every one of our adoptable (and not quite ready to be adopted) animals are in homes where families are teaching trust, love, basic manners ā¦. preparing your future dog ready to be the best addition to your family that he can be!
As fosters, we are willing to have our heart break after we love, rehabilitate and nurse an unwanted, unloved animal until they prance away with their fur-ever person ā often never looking backĀ āĀ as they start their most lifeās wonderful chapter: the one as a cherished pet.
So join our road to making freedom rides happen! We are a wonderful, tight-knit family needing volunteers, fosters, donors – basically caring people willing to help in any way they can!

šØšØPUPPY FOSTERS NEEDED!šØšØFreedom Ride Rescue is urgently looking for foster homes for four young puppies, approximately 5ā6 weeks old, who need a safe and loving place to land. Because of their young age, the puppies will need to be fostered in pairs so they can remain together, continue to socialize, and receive the care and comfort they need during these important early weeks.
One of the puppies will require a little extra support, as he is facing a leg amputation and will need a medical foster willing to help him through surgery and recovery. Freedom Ride Rescue will cover all costs associated with the puppiesā care, including medical expensesāwe simply need fosters who can open their homes and hearts to these little ones while they prepare for adoption.
Foster homes must be located within one hour of Raleigh so they can access our veterinary partners and attend adoption events. The foster commitment is needed until the puppies are adopted. If you are able to help give these puppies the loving home they need to grow, heal, and thrive, please email jennifer@freedom-ride.org today!
It`s Cinco de Mayo, so we`re giving you CINCO adorable puppies to swoon over! This litter has the looks, the charm, the personalities, and the puppy breath to make anyone fall head over heels in love!
These precious mixed-breed puppies are about 2 months old and are ready to find the perfect forever homes to love them forever!

NEHI is SAFE!! After five weeks and two days, we were able to trap her ... she`s home, happy to be back with her doggy siblings and snuggling up against her people!
This save truly belongs to so many loving people.
MOSTLY to her mom, Patti Clapper, who was out several times a day - along with her family and friends - marketing and canvassing aroung the clock to find Nehi (now Niya); Eric Bircher made two trips from Fayetteville to track her with his drone (she was trapped yards from where he found her on drone); Erin Eaton (K9`s On Call Missing Pet Services) who validated we were in the right area, and the incredibley talented Mary Paschal (who actually captured Nehi exactly one year ago - with the same Missy trap - the big black cage that caught her). So many FRR volunteers put up signs and looked for her - Gwenn Glotnis being a main force as she had pet sat Ne and knew her quirks!
To the kid who pranked called us (with his mom`s name on his caller ID), to the jerk who let us know he captured her and was doing unthinkable things to her, to the lady who actually dropped trouser and urinated in front of our cameras ... despite your creutly - we moved forward. And found her safely.
She was an extra hard case as Nehi lived on a chain her first three years - and a little over a year ago, her first foster lost her (we were able to trap her) then LOST her again two days later (that`s when Mary brought in the Missy). Her NEXT foster parents were diligent and had her for almost a year ... and were devastated that she got loose again: but the amazing network that is Freedom Ride Rescue ... and the incredible circle of Niya`s new world ... brought her back against all odds.
Happy tails pretty girl. No STAY for good please.
