About Our N.C. Rescue
We are proud to be the crazy dog lovers who skip out on work to transport dogs from all over the state to their excited fosters’ homes; who stay up late searching shelter pages for that next “Freedom Ride” potential; who spend countless hours making rescue a reality!
Freedom Ride Rescue brings together individuals who share a love for dogs and a dream to see a no-kill state. Our foster-based network is in the Raleigh/Clayton, NC, area. We bring in dogs of all ages, sizes and breed mixes. We help to rehabilitate these animals – providing security, love, medical, and behavioral training as needed – until they can be adopted to their “fur-ever” homes.
We are foster based: we have no facility and every one of our adoptable (and not quite ready to be adopted) animals are in homes where families are teaching trust, love, basic manners …. preparing your future dog ready to be the best addition to your family that he can be!
As fosters, we are willing to have our heart break after we love, rehabilitate and nurse an unwanted, unloved animal until they prance away with their fur-ever person – often never looking back – as they start their most life’s wonderful chapter: the one as a cherished pet.
So join our road to making freedom rides happen! We are a wonderful, tight-knit family needing volunteers, fosters, donors – basically caring people willing to help in any way they can!

🐶✨ FRR Alum Bia (FKA Beetle) is a 4-month-old bundle of spunk, smarts, and nonstop laughs. Her favorite activities so far include zoomies through open fields 🌾, playing her brain games 🧠, and going on walks where she carefully collects leaves and sticks along the way 🍂🍁.
☀️She also loves soaking up the sun and has a mischievous habit of stealing socks straight from the laundry bin 😂🧦. Her all-time favorite toy is her beloved orange bear 🧸🧡.
🐕💕 Right now, Bia’s favorite place to visit is her cousin Coco’s house, but she’s getting ready for a big milestone… Her very first trip to the mountains this February!!! 🏔️❄️ Her spunky personality has been shining bright since the day she was first met at an FRR event while searching for the perfect pup. She is incredibly smart and endlessly curious, always eager to explore and learn 🌟.
😆 Bia provides constant entertainment—from being a full-on “couch troll” (hiding under the couch and zooming back and forth while barking at anything that moves) to casually standing in the shower and scaring the heck out of her humans when they look down and realize they’re not alone 😂🚿. She is very friendly and great with other dogs, and she’s already made some wonderful friends along the way: JJ, Timothy, Feah, and Penny 🐾🐾.
💖🐕 Hilarious, sweet, and full of personality, Bia is truly the perfect little doggie.

🚨🚨FOSTER NEEDED!!🚨🚨 This little burrito is in need of a foster! She`s 13 lbs and 7 months old. Super sweet girl and she really likes other dogs. Quiet in her crate. Needs to learn basic manners. A fenced yard would be helpful since she doesn`t have a lot of experience on leash. If you can help please email jennifer@freedom-ride.org today!

A FANTASTIC New Year`s donation from Vivian Fish to help us raise money for Crumbles ... two tickets to the Seth Myers stand up show at DPAC on Jan. 24! A $10 donation get you a chance!
Crumbles was an emergency intake this weekend - she`s lived outside her whole life and is VERY happy to be in a warm foster home! She will see our amazing partner vet, Falls Village Veterinary Hospital, for a full work up (vaccines, exam, heartworm test). We think she`s about 3, but she`s in such horrific shape, it`s hard for us to be sure.
Your donation will go to her care! Once we have 50 donations, we`ll select one person to go to the Seth Meyers show (7 pm at DPAC on Jan. 24, section 6, Row A).

What We Do
Rescue Dogs
We are proud to be the crazy dog lovers who skip out on work to transport dogs from all over the state to their excited fosters’ homes … who stay up late searching shelter pages for that next “Freedom Ride” potential …. who volunteer countless hours making rescue a reality!
Provide Medical Care
Freedom Ride Rescue provides all supplies (crates, food, bowls) and gets the animal in for a vet visit (for a spay, neuter and/or vaccines); we’ll also provide flea and heartworm preventatives. Anything and everything to make a happy and healthy pet!
Find A Home
We love, rehabilitate and nurse an unwanted, unloved animal until they prance away with their fur-ever person as they start their most life’s wonderful chapter: the one as a cherished pet.
Lost a Pet?
Freedom Ride Rescue partners with Petco Love Lost to make reuniting lost pets easier using image recognition technology to search a national lost and found database.
